I was playing with him outside his enclosure. It only took a brief lapse in attention—he dashed past me and ran straight behind the wardrobe. We tried to coax him out, but nothing worked. Fearing he might get trapped or injured, we made the decision to move the wardrobe.
In that moment, everything went wrong. The wardrobe tilted at the wrong angle and came crushing on him. We managed to pull him out, but he was already fading. Within moments, he was gone.
This should never have happened. It was preventable, and that weight will always remain.
Though he was with us for less than three months, he knew warmth, care, and a home filled with love. That is the only small comfort in this loss.
Always remembered in our hearts as the lively one… Tian Xuan
