Sorry Tian Xuan

Today is the exact 2 weeks death anniversary of beloved Tian Xuan. We lost him in an accident on 22 November 2013.

I was playing with him outside of his house and a slight drop of guard, he dash past me and headed straight behind the wardrobe. We try to tempt him out but without success and we are afraid that he might be struck, so , we decided to shift the wardrobe out. That when the dreadfully accident happened, the wardrobe was titled in a wrong angle which crushed directly on him. We did get him out, he was drawing the final breath and he left.
I'm So Sorry, I could  had prevented it. Though he was with less than 3 Months but I believe that he had enjoy a loved and filled life.....
Always Remembered in the heart as the lively one... Tian Xuan

Lights off
1...2...3..! Curtains up and a round of applause to welcome our new member Tian Xuan!

Yup, folks! He is a pearl pudding which I got it on the 25 September and has been behind the stage until today for his debut! To know more about this cute fellow, you could read his intro in "our hammie" section

Goodbye Yuki

Yuki cross over the rainbow bridge on 16 July 2013, 2 weeks more from today.
I do not have the heart to post it until now, she pass away on the morning while I still having lesson.

It come to me as a shock as she is doing fine the night before still eating and moving around as usual. Well, she did not wait for me to reach home, I felt like she planned that way to left without me to make sure I did not feel so raw over her departure.

Nevertheless, I still love her and wanted to be with her at the last part even if it will hurt badly.

Fighting HAZZE!

This past days our main island was completely surrounded by haze due to slash and burn agriculture in Indonesia. This year is also recorded the worst for Singapore with 3hr avg PSI 400+, partly because of the change in monsoon wind causing the haze to be blown directly toward us. We, human, are feeling uncomfortable, nevertheless, so do the hamsters! Furthermore, the poor hammies can't wear mask, however, as owners we can help to reduce their comfortableness.

1. All hamster should/must be kept indoor.
2. Place the hamster cage at a spacious area. e.g living room
3. Always ensure that the hamsters have access to clean drinking water.
4. Close all door and windows.
5. Switch on air-purifier, fans/air-conditional in the room to help in air flow circulation. But not directly at them.
6. If you do not have fan/air-conditional in the room or want more circulation flow, you can place those mini-portable fan near the hamster cage's entrance/ "hole" (refer to pic)

Dawn, the champion climber

On 10th March 2013, my family and I brought our hamsters; dawn & yuki to participant the annually pet corner - Fun Time by the Beach organised by the CATS classified.

Dawn make us proud by winning the "My Pet Rock" contest which she beat other 10 contestant of mainly of dogs and a rabbit. She emerge champion with her superior climbing skills and hanging on to mid-air ladder for 10 seconds. It was unexpected and even mind-blowing to the judges as people all know that smaller animals like hamsters are harder to train and perform like the dogs and cats.

It is a pity that both dawn & yuki are not in top condition to win the "Fastest Hamster " contest. Nevertheless, we are still proud of both girls and appreciate their effort.
